Har ki Doon Trek

This beautiful trek is located at the base of Fetch Pravat, at an altitude of 3,556 meters. Har Ki Doon , the cradle shaped valley is a paradise for trekkers, bird watchers and naturel lovers. Dense forests of pines and glittering mountain peaks surround the valley. This moderate trek takes you to one of the least explored regions of Garhwal Himalayas. The valley is scattered with wild Himalayan Flowers and the whole valley looks colorful during flowering season in monsoon.

The best time for trekking in Har ki doon valley is June to October. During the rest of the years the region remains either very cold or wet. The valley is full of wildlife, which makes it a paradise for nature lovers.

The trek starts from Netwar to Osla through dense forests of chestnuts, walnuts, willows and chinars. The trek from Osla to Har-ki-doon is through terraced mountain fields, lush green grassy land and conifer forests. Har ki Doon is one of the most fascinating and least visited areas of the Garhwal Himalaya.

Hari ki Dun Trekking  Tour Highlights :

Rishikesh :  The holy city of the Hindu's on the banks of river Ganges. An important pilgrim centre with many important temples and 'Ashrams'. YAMNOTRI : The source of the river Yamuna. One of the 4 'Dhams' (place of pilgrimage) of Garhwal.

Mussoorie: Popularly known as the 'Queen of the Hills', this is an important hill station in the Himalayas.

Osla: Situated at an altitude of 2560 mtrs, Osla is one of the most beautiful villages in the Fateh parvat region. Here is a beautiful caved temple dedicated to Duryodhana, the eldest brother of Kauravas.

Govind Wildlife Sanctuary: Set amidst the scenic beauty of the Himalayas, the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Established in 1955, the sanctuary spread over an area of 953 sq kms and the altitude varies from 1300 mts. to 6323 mts. Himalayan black bears, tahr, serow, monal, snow leopard, brown bears, trogopan, chir, bharal, musk deer, koklas, kaleej pheasants and chukor are the main animal spicies can be easily found in the sanctuary.

Har ki Dun Trek Itinerary:

Day 01: RISHIKESH / TALUKA (1900 m/6232 ft) DRIVE 7-8 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP:rishikesh_swargniwas
After breakfast drive to Taluka by Toyota Qualis, a small hamlet nestled in the laps of nature via Mussoorie, Kempty falls, Purola and Mori. This is starting point of our trek. Overnight in tents/ tourist rest house. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 02: TALUKA / OSLA (2560 m / 8400 ft) TREK6-7 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP:
The day starts with the gentle trail towards Osla. Today's trek is through beautiful forests of Chestnut, Walnut and Willows. A gradual ascent brings us to the picturesque Osla village along the swift rivulet. On arrival set campsite for overnight stay. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 03: OSLA / HAR-KI-DUN (3566 m / 11700 ft) TREK 5-7 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP:
Morning after breakfast trek to Har Ki Dun. Initially the trek goes past some fields of beans and rice and also some isolated villages, where the life style is same as old, and the untouched one. The dress worn by the people is traditional. Their cheerful ness and innocence combined with their simple way of life make them very appealing. A common scene in the evenings is that of ruddy cheeked village belles returning home, carrying on their backs huge loads of pine needles and cones to be used as fuel. The trail steadily ascends the side of the ridge across the river and then veers left to the Har Ki Dun valley. Dense forests at this part give way to the meadows that are scattered with flowers and flowering herbs. Meals and Overnight stay in tents.

Day 04: HAR-KI-DUN:
The day is for rest/ acclimatization /exploration. On this day everyone does his own thing. One can go on an exploratory trek in the valley, capture some magnificent views on the camera, or just chill at the campsite. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 05: HAR-KI-DUN- DEBSHU BUGYAL TREK 4-5 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP: bhojwasa
Today we will trek 14 kms to reach Debshu Bughyal. It will take 4-5 hrs at leisure pace as the trail is generally downhill. Meals and overnight in tents.

Day 06 : DEBSHU BUGYAL / RUINSARA TAL (3500 m/ 11480 ft) TREK 5-6 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP:
Today we start trekking early towards Ruinsara Tal. The Trek from Debsu Bughyal to Ruinsara Tal is through, terraced mountain fields, lush green grassy lands and conifer forests through extremely scenic landscape. The gradient of the trek is moderate and one will be able to complete the trek in 5 - 6 hrs on arrival at the lake set campsite. Meals and overnight in tents.

Day 07 : RUINSARA TAL:
The day is for rest / acclamatisation / exploration. One can explore the surroundings around the lake. The place is full of photographers delight. Meals and overnight stay in tents. ruinsara_tal_trek

Day 08: RUINSALA TAL / OSLA TREK 5 HOURS OVERNIGHT CAMP
After breakfast start trekking back towards Osla (18 kms). This trek will take about 4-5 hours. Set up a camp by the Supin River. Meals and overnight stay in tents.

Day 09: OSLA / TALUKA (13 kms/3-4 hrs) – RISHIKESH (215 Kms, 7-8 hrs) :
After early breakfast trek for about 3-4 hours to reach Taluka and from here drive back to Rishikesh. Tour terminates Upon arrival at Rishikesh.
