Dodital - Dayara Bugyal Trek
 

Situated at an altitude of 3024 m from sea level, north of Uttarkashi and surrounded by dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons. The amazing lake is full of rare fishes and the Himalayan Golden Trouts. The trek to Dodital commence from Utarkashi to Kalyani and is accessible by motor. Kalyani to Agoda is gradual climb through woods, fields and villages on a mule track. The trek from Agoda to Dodi Tal is steep and through dense forests.

Dodi Tal in Garhwal Himalayas - mysterious, alluring, and simply stunning! It is at a height of 3024 meters above mean sea level, north of Uttarakashi. Crystal clear waters are bounded by dense Oak Woods, Pine, Deodar and Rhododendrons. The lake is full of fishes and is known for some of the rarest species like the Himalayan Golden Trout.

The trek from Dodital to Yamnotri takes you through high altitude grasslands and dense virgin forests. The scenery en-route is really astounding! The trek for Dodi Tal commences from Uttarkashi or Kalyani, which can be approached by car. Kalyani to Agoda is a gradual climb through woods, fields and villages along a mule track. The trek from Agoda to Dodi Tal is steep and through thick forests.

Bugyal in the local language means “High Altitude Meadow”. Dayara Bugyal is one of the most beautiful places in Uttaranchal. Situated at an elevation ranging from 10,000-12,000 ft. This vast meadow is second to none in natural beauty in Uttaranchal. During winter it provides one of the best ski slopes in India spread over an area of 28 Square Kms.

Dayara Bugyal - Dodital Trek Itinerary ::---> 

Note ::--- We would further trek beyond the Dodital lake, across Bakaria khaga pass ( also known as Darwa pass ) near the Darwa top, to camp at the vast meadows of Kanasar. Darwa top offers magnificent views of Banderpoonch and Swaragrohini massifs. 

Day 1 : : After breackfast Drive to Uttarkashi, entire Drive takes you through the picturesque Garhwal Mountains along the Ganges. Camp overnight by the side of river Asi Ganga. Fresh Cooked meals and Overnight in Tents.

Day 02 : Sangamchatti to Agoda Trek 5-6 Hrs Overnight Camp: Morning after breakfast drive for one hour to Sangam Chatti. Arrive and commence trek /pony to Agoda village. The entire trek today is gradual ascent till we reach agoda. Today we camp little away from the Agoda Village. Meals and overnight camp.

DAY 03. AGODA TO DODITAL: A gradual uphill trek through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep cliffs brings you to the mysterious Dodital Lake (3307 m) - surrounded by dense forests, it is an ideal place for the nature lover. Overnight in Forest Rest House / Tents.

Day 4: Dodital: Day at leisure. The crystal clear lake and the surrounding dense forests create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Explore the surrounding areas. Campfire dinner at night. Overnight in Forest Rest House / Tents.

Day5: Dodital-Darwa Dhar: Begin the trek ascending the Darwa Dhar Ridge ( 4115 m ) - the watershed of the Ganga and Yamuna River valleys. Overnight in Tents.

Day 6: Darwa Dhar-midway Camp: Descend towards the Yamuna Valley. Set up camp for the night in the forest. Overnight in Tents.

Day7: Hanuman Chatti-Yamnotri: Trek to the source of the river Yamuna; it is a gradual climb upto Yamnotri ( 3185m ). ( 10 Kms; 4-6 hrs of walking)

Day08: Yamnotri-Rishikesh: Trek down to the road-head and proceed by Jeep to the hill station Mussoorie- overlooking the Doon valley. En-route visit Lakhamandal- a site arrive Rishikesh hotel.
